On this page we have some recent photos from our mining ghost town, Planchas de Plata. You can visit this ghost town when you visit the ranch. The ruins are fascinating because of their history, and they are also just beautiful. To the right is a photo of a foundation rock ruin.
The photo below shows the
entrance to one of the several silver mines. It is important to remember
that the value of silver was on par with gold back in the late 1700s when
this town was founded and these mines were very active. Now this town
is home to birds and other wild life, including butterflies and ocelots.
Pictured below and to the left is the jail. When you visit you can see where the bars were set into the rock walls. On the right, is the ruins of the old mill which was located in the town.
