SPRING BIRD LIST Sightings From April 9th thru April 14, 2005 This April, when the folks from the Bar H visited the ranch they were accompanied by biologist and birding enthusiast, Susan Patla. Susan is a nongame biologist with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department in Jackson, Wyoming. She is responsible for monitoring Bald Eagles, Peregrine Falcons, Trumpeter Swans, waterfowl and migratory birds in western Wyoming. Susan did her Master's thesis on the nesting ecology of the Northern Goshawk in eastern Idaho, and was responsible for monitoring Northern Goshawk nesting pairs for over 10 years on the Targhee National Forest in Idaho (1989-1993). She has been watching and studying birds for over 30 years, ever since her initial interest was stimulated by trips to Antarctica in the 1970s. She has been a devoted observer ever since.
